Starting a business
She wanted a company for two new ventures, because a company sounds safer. We compared the numbers side by side: up to 2 million CZK revenue a trade license costs less in tax, accounting and admin, and the s.r.o. adds little real protection for her kind of work. She started with a trade license and can still switch later.
Leaving the Czech Republic
He was moving to Portugal and wanted to close his trade license. We paused it instead, so his public health insurance continued until the move. A large stock sale turned out to need no declaration at all. And going through his figures, we found a tax refund of almost 50,000 CZK he didn't know about.
New job
He started at a large company and planned to pause his trade license. Keeping it as a secondary activity was simpler and cheaper: the social and health advances stop, the tax advances are reduced, and he can keep invoicing on the side. We sent the notifications to the authorities for him.
Moving to Prague
He wanted to move his business to Prague. With his income from events and trading, and his current setup abroad, the Czech Republic would have cost him more and solved nothing. I told him so. Not every consultation ends with an order, and it shouldn't.
So did almost 4 in 10 of the people I talked to. AI is fast and sounds sure of itself. On Czech rules it is often out of date or simply wrong, and it doesn't stand behind its answer. I do.
